01st April 2018: We have been working so hard since August 2017 making the big decision to invest our time and money into a successful business. It's been hard work, exciting and rewarding deciding on our vision, what customers want, location and menu choices. We have ensured every little detail has been discussed, and taken our time to make sure our vision and concept are exactly what we wanted. After finding the perfect mobile catering unit, we decided we needed to look at the colour scheme, as bright Pink wasn't what we had in mind! We agreed Copper and Grey was on trend and worked with our vision, and found www.facebook.com/Damien.Doddemeade to complete the external renovation work we needed. The bright Pink disappeared, and a Matte Grey took over, with Copper detailing around the edges whilst ensuring the original features remained.
During this time we had to set up our business, ensure all necessary training completed, safety certificates and registering our business. Including finances and full understanding of costings, budgets and pricing. This was a long process, but once completed it felt real, and we were ready for the challenge ahead. Then moving on to the fun details such as decoration, stickers, advertising, promotions, menu boards, packaging and suppliers. Ensuring our theme ran through it all, keeping customers and the environment in mind. Ensuring minimal plastic used and promoting environmental friendly alternatives.
We had our very first open day to promote our new adventure on the 1st April 2018 after 6 months of planning! It was scary but amazing to see our vision come into reality, and to test out the van for the first time with friends and family. It worked really well, we enjoyed the day and gained lots of valuable customer feedback to take away, make tweaks and revisions and work on the market research we had gained.
Here's to an exciting future of Rise and Grind, hard work, and now time to get those bookings and events for the Summer of 2018. Wish us luck!
