Royal William Yard Food Market...

7th October 2018; Royal William Food and Craft Market, held on the first Sunday of every month.

We arrived early in the morning to set up, and were greeted by so many friendly stall holders, the weather was amazing, fresh but bright Blue Sunshine all day. We got set up, and our first eager customers had been all of the early starters on the stalls needing their caffeine fix.

We didn't know what to expect as this had been our first time at the market, but it was such a brilliant day. We had customers non stop with queues and queues all day. It gives you that buzz and drive you need to have the fire in your belly to continue. Hot drinks were selling fast, and as we didn't anticipate such high demand, we ran out of milk within the first two hours. My sister had to do a marathon sprint to the corner shop while I tried to keep the customers happy, and on return picked up the queues again!

Had to call in a few more favours throughout the day from family and friends... We went through an enormous amount of coffee beans, and by the end of the day had run out all together. Sign of happy customers, and a productive day. We had so much fun, and the pressure felt good of keeping the queue down and still providing the quality hot drinks and food our customers deserved.

Due to the colder weather we decided to update our menu slightly, and removed the ice coffees and replaced with Baileys Hot Chocolate and Chocolate Orange Latte liqueur... This went down a storm, and tasted delicious. We had great feedback, and think this will be a winner for the Winter period - What's better than Baileys AND hot chocolate!

There were so many stalls and beautiful unique stands such as Jewellery, Flowers, plants, Clothing, Scarves, Accessories, homeware. The selection of food stalls to choose from was amazing, such a different variation of foods, including: Crepes, Wraps, home-made doughnuts, marshmallow man, pizza, kebabs, Chinese, Indian and so many more experiences to taste...We were lucky to be so busy and occupied on the van that we didn't spend all our time eating!

Overall a great experience, especially to be able to do it in our hometown in such a beautiful location, right by the sea with all the history of Royal William Yard around. We took it all in our stride, and hope to return on the first Sunday of every month going forward...So please do come say Hi!
