We had the pleasure of supporting Heart Radio, with Matt and Victoria's Christmas market. There had been over 2,000 visitors the year before so we had to ensure we were as prepared as possible.
As soon as we arrived and set up there had been intermittent rain, and due to the Church being very small (and very beautiful!) Visitors had to queue up before being able to enter. We were positions right in the 'heart' of the queue, to ensure all our lovely customers had warmth in their bellies with festive liqueur coffees and mulled wine.
We had hot food and hot drinks, Christmassy market with all the traders 'side hustle' stalls full of home-made gifts, hand crafted items and stunning Christmas gifts. Live bands, Music, Entertainment and even snow! The children had a great day, and I think the parents did too.
My Sister has planned a Winter getaway to Bali with her partner for three weeks after he had returned from his first deployment with the Navy. Great adventure for them...But left me with Rise and Grind! Luckily we have the most supportive family, and I had been able to ask my mum and cousin for some help!
My mum has never worked in a hospitality environment, and as our newest Apprentice I think she did very well. Meeting and Greeting customers, taking orders and payments as well as producing home-made food to order. Very thankful, and lovely to work with my mum as well as for her to experience a day in the life of Rise and Grind and what it takes before and after each event to get things ready.
